February 11, 2024 - The American Collegiate Go Association (ACGA) is thrilled to co-host the 2024 Michigan Go Championship with the Association of Chinese Americans. The one-day five round event is on Saturday, April 27, 2024, in Madison Heights, Michigan. The event is open to all players, both college students and non-college students alike. All games are AGA-rated.
Event Highlights
Competition: Get ready for an intense experience with a time setting of 25 min + 10 seconds Fischer time.
Prizes: Victory comes with its rewards! The tournament champion will receive a grand prize of $500, while the state champion will receive $250 (and yes, both prizes if they qualify!). All division winners will receive prizes and physical awards. All Kyu players will be entered into a lottery to play a teaching game with strong players post-tournament.
Food: Treat yourself to complimentary refreshments and the option of purchasing delicious Chinese cuisine for lunch and dinner.

The regular registration fee is $50. The early bird registration fee is $30 before April 1. College students (undergrad and grad) and youth (18 years and under or in high school) receive an additional $10 discount.
In anticipation of the event, Organizing Director Jamie Tang said, “We look forward to seeing players of all ages, levels, and backgrounds at our debut in-person event, hosted with ACA. Our greatest hope is to see players forge bonds over our love for the enriching game of Go.”
