The newly restarted ACGA is hosting its first-ever event, the virtual ACGA Pilot Tournament, on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023. The tournament boasts a $100 grand prize, sponsored by the Evanston Go Club. All students enrolled in a university (undergraduate, graduate, etc.) can register here. Check out the Who’s Coming page here.
The American Go Association (AGA) President Gurujeet Khalsa said he looks forward to supporting collegiate Go.
“The AGA has offered the ACGA a discount code so that the cost of new and renewing Youth memberships in the AGA are covered for ACGA participants,” Khalsa said.
All participants must have an AGA, CGA, or MGA membership in time for the ACGA Pilot Tournament, which will use the Leago platform and NAOL rating system (see the Leago website here). The ACGA co-founders will email ACGA participants with instructions on registering for $10 off AGA membership — free registration for individuals who qualify for Youth membership ages 22 and under — and Leago account a few days before the tournament.
The ACGA plans to launch the Collegiate Go League, a monthly team tournament, in the spring. University Go clubs can register as an official ACGA chapter here to stay informed on ACGA and help ACGA keep records on university Go clubs.
The ACGA co-founders credit the generous guidance of the American Go Association and Leago in supporting our first-ever event. Our team looks forward to seeing you there!
